![]() Once boarding the Terra Nova, Isaac and Carver must find a way to restore power to the derelict Terra Nova and find a new ShockPoint Drive in order to return to Earth. ![]() After witnessing many ships lift off, they find out that the ship's ShockPoint Drive is missing it can only take them to the CMS Terra Nova in orbit. They then found out about a Unitologist ship that can take them back to Earth. After finding out that the Marker signal was still causing insanity, suicide and Necromorphs, they battled through more of the threat that Isaac and Carver had just faced. They then make their way across the surface of the frozen planet, finding memories of the horror they had experienced. I feel like people can't accept that as an ending because unconditional loss just isn't something you see in video games. After the battle with the Blood Moon over Tau Volantis, Isaac Clarke and John Carver wake up on the surface of the planet, shocked to find out that after seemingly falling to their near death, they are still alive. All of the characters, including those that escaped to Earth, are dead. The conclusion to the series is that humans (and all life on Earth) go exstinct, and nobody can do anything to stop it. The only communication they got from the surface was basically just creepy necromorph noises. I mean, you see that when they return to earth a brethren moon is basically eating the planet, and the ship that Isaac and Carver are on crashes into another one. The way I saw it, Isaac failed, and the brethren moons ate humanity. I'm 2 years late to this one, but when Awakening released, everyone seemed to think it ended on a cliffhanger.
